SALARY: £22,218 - £26,277 PER ANNUM

REPORTS TO: SENIOR MIS OFFICER
Job Purpose
The post-holder will assist the Head of MIS and the Senior MIS Officer in the effective operation, delivery and management of a range of MIS services. In particular the post-holder will be responsible for taking forward MIS developments that will lead to improvements across Client operations through the better use of computerised systems, applications and reports.
The post-holder will be required to work with other administrators and staff across a range of functional areas in order to ensure that the duties of the post are carried out in an effective and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities and accountabilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for any or all of the following duties:
Operational Responsibilities
Support the Senior MIS Officer in order to;
· Develop and implement solutions to bring about operational improvements through better use and integration of Client information systems;
· Liaise with ICT support staff and ILT staff to ensure a co-ordinated approach in areas such as network protocols, data security, application integration (e.g. Moodle VLE, Client intranet and web portal technology) and system support and maintenance;
· Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness through development and application of new systems, processes and technologies;
· Assist in completion of returns and in responding to requests for management information and reports in a timely manner;
· Provide clear guidance, instructions and training as required to staff on MIS processes, systems, procedures and reports;
· Ensure that the MIS business processes are fully integrated and consistent with the overall Client business systems.
· Manage/supervise Course Administrative Officers in the absence of the Senior MIS Officer;
· Co-ordinate responses to all internal and audit data requests.
· Contribute to internal processes for up-dating the Risk Management Register.
· Provide support, through the Senior MIS Officer, to the Senior Management Team of the Client and to its various sub-committees and working groups as necessary.
General
· Participate in the enrolment cover rota.
· Be required to undertake work outside normal working hours on occasions.
· Provide reports, written and oral, as required.
· Ensure that all documentation and authorisation procedures are adhered to.
Conditions

The location of the post will reflect the needs of the Client and may be changed subject to the requirements of the Client. Duties may change as the Client develops, therefore the person appointed will be expected to be flexible in relation to duties performed as required.
It is anticipated that the post-holder will be required to adopt a flexible approach to the duties and responsibilities as outlined in this Job Description.
This is a description of the job as it is at present constituted. It is the practice of the Client to periodically examine employees’ job descriptions and to update them to ensure that they relate to the job as then being performed or to incorporate whatever changes are being proposed. This procedure is normally carried out through discussions between the post holder and the line manager. It is the Client’s aim to reach agreement to reasonable changes following consultation with the post holder.
